Michael K. Gallagher is a civil engineer with over 22 years of experience in the acquisition, design, feasibility analysis, budgeting, entitlement, and construction of commercial and residential projects. Mr. Gallagher’s career began at an engineering firm in Joliet, Il where he designed and built municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, water towers, and lift stations. Mr. Gallagher also served as the municipal review engineer for several communities where he would review and approve land development plans submitted from local Developers.
Mr. Gallagher took his experience to a Chicago based real estate development firm where he spent ten years as V.P. of Development and Construction ultimately earning an equity ownership in the company portfolio. In this role, Mr. Gallagher directly managed over $250M of commercial and residential projects in 13 states. With an in-house staff of engineers, architects, planners, attorneys, and project managers, Mr. Gallagher developed communities of single family, multi-family, apartment, low rise condominiums, and retail power centers.
Mr. Gallagher believes that success requires a “boots on the ground” approach and would often be found visiting projects between company offices in Chicago and Las Vegas. Mr. Gallagher has made hundreds of project presentations to regional and municipal planning boards, Water Reclamation Districts, Bureau of Reclamation, and Departments of Transportation. Mr. Gallagher would also personally attend and participate in the public hearings where he would have direct communication with local residents. Mr. Gallagher prided himself on trying to incorporate all public comments into his projects before final submission.
Mr. Gallagher began his college education in the Associates Degree Program of Business Management at Loyola University Chicago before transferring to obtain his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago with disciplines in geotechnical, structural, and municipal infrastructure design.
